[m4w] values/solitude/honesty
Feb. 23rd, 2004 11:51 am(left the book at work all weekend...)
Saturday was values: "female values" conflict with "male/workplace values". well, that's a load of crap. I try to not make my values subjective. I hate it when others do it to me, particularly in social settings.
Sunday was solitude: and how hard it is to make time for oneself. feh. I don't have this problem.
Today is truth: I perceive myself as more truthful than most of the people I know, but I'm also honest enough to know that I probably don't have all the facts, and am ignoring giant hints (dancing on the piano with enormous neon hats) because they only suggest, but do not confirm, and I've misinterpreted them before.
(Yeah, thanks to my values and honesty, I know all too much about solitude.
People envy, and therefore desire, liars and cheaters. I know I do. sigh)
Close to Home is of an overprotective parent informing a child's date of their tight curfew. Having never had a curfew I didn't set for myself, I don't much relate to this. Women's Wit is related, sort of, Monta Crane: There are three ways to get something done; Do it yourself, employ someone or forbid your children to do it. I wonder how much more I'd've done if anything had been outright forbidden. Maybe I'd be a more motivated person now. hmmm.
