Mr. Forrest, gourmet chef by night, high school english teacher by day, (he would motivate 11th grade honors and 12th grade APE to keep up with the state-mandated syllabus and his personal interest in giving us enough background to endure appreciate The Wasteland by inviting us over for dessert at the end of senior year) would respond to whiny teenagers with Who said life would be fair?
He was also a veteran (of WWII? Korean?) who'd been shot in the throat during combat. His gravelly voice was enough to remind us that life could be a lot less fair.
Close to Home is about separation anxiety.

So, obstacles: separation anxiety, pleasing others. Try to utilize these for personal growth.
