So, [livejournal.com profile] awfief bought me a new daily self-help-ish book. Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much. And going from [SA] in 2002, to [RTO] in 2003, to [MFWWDTM] in 2004 just seems a bit... ponderous.

But, you all know what this means. Another year of these sorts of daily reviews of someone else's book. [livejournal.com profile] jbsegal says it's my own damned fault for making these entries that interesting. It's a different writer, and I wonder if there'll be as much of the waxing romantic about stuff that gets me the anonymous daffodils again.

(ah, [livejournal.com profile] hammercock that's it! Bob must be a Daffodil, at least when you're seething about folk misspelling dilemma as Dil-enema, which you can expect when you make the Flowers Angry.)

So the first entry is about Frenzy. A rush to tie up loose ends, tidy up, etc. Trying to be completely caught up before starting the new year. Remember, she says, you are perfect as you are.

Compared to yesterday? when I delayed going to see the early fireworks, the first time since I lived here that it wasn't subarctic during first night, because I thought I'd committed to making plans with [x]. Once a pure joy to be around, now just a candy-coated reminder of my inadequacy? Apparently I was especially "spiky" last night. As I explained then, pick one: Biting wit, constant sobbing, legalizing murder so I can systematically eliminate problems. Like I'd last a week if murder were legal. The lynch mob might not be at my door the moment the bill passed, but, they'd eventually get to my name on the list. If I didn't get to them first.)

I don't feel more perfect. Then again, I don't feel particularly rushed, except for the nagging concern that the car is unlocked. This is an issue only because it happens to contain Other People's Crap right now. Other People seem to worry about such things.
