[rto] Going Stag to Ring in the New Deer?

SBB places New Year's Eve as the second most high pressure date night of the year.
My closest chance at having a kiss from a lover at the stroke of midnight was wrecked by a driver with a cell phone.
My original friend-date for this year is now pre-emptively plotting against their SO's notorious lameness. Thus far, I've had vague offers from Goober Boy, and folks I never even considered smooching, or who I doubt would mix well in my other social circles. (It only takes a few major mismatches to overcome GSF4.)
I am likely doing New Year's Stag. Not sure if that'll affect my desire to walk or drive to parties. I have to play in traffic either way to get anywhere.
(And when I get out of work that day will determine whether I can do enough of first night to merit the pin purchase.) The next day, there are events starting at 11 that oblige driving some of the way to family-ville, and the (walkable) annual tradition starts at 1. I suppose what I skip depends on when I wake up, and whether I decide to go home on the 2nd instead. (The Weight Watchman suggests I skip most of the above, since parties encourage overconsumption and I've had enough of that already this week.)
Yes, it's nice to have options. I just wish I had default date for them.
