A guide to wrapping gifts. Is this really that big an issue for people?
I guess this mattered more, back when I lived near family, and had more gifts to exchange where I wouldn't like just click the giftwrap option.
She frowns upon recycling wrapping paper, unless used differently than before. Argh, but wrapping paper feels so wasteful, without a fireplace. Much wouldn't burn cleanly anyway. I generally make do with gift bags and ribbons.
She collects various baubles, etc. throughout the year to make a gift look more fancy. My mum still has a box of tiny wooden ornaments I'd use to decorate gifts. They dwindle far more slowly since my absence has reduced the in-person exchange quite a bit.

If you want to send me a card, ask me for my address. If I have to fill out an LJ poll to get a card, it doesn't seem to matter much to you whether I receive it or not, so much for the holiday spirit. I'll make exceptions if anyone is designing an original card. (E-cards don't count. You can't put them in your scrapbook, or use them as part of next year's giftwrappings, and you'll probably post the url anyway...)
It's also in your interests to make sure I have your address by February. I won't figure out I haven't confirmed your address until the 11th hour, when I'll look for you on chat, but otherwise save myself the postage, just put your name on it, add it to the pile of "need address" cards that is now several years deep.
