I am a (googled) cosumer whore, and how!
Oct. 2nd, 2003 03:26 pmMy latest of periodic opportunities to get invited to exclusive screenings at http://www.landmarktheatres.com/ obliged me to look up the good restaurants near their local theaters. This led to http://www.waltham-community.org/restaurants.html -- I thought about this a great deal when I took my car to be inspected, which would've been a great time to have a vehicularly-enabled lunch date take me to Moody street. Instead I walked to the http://nakedfish.com/ (and resisted having a Mohito).
And felt bad for eating inside on a sunny day. One of the very nice things about this awfis is the outdoor seating for lunch. I should invite someone out here to do lunch with me, bag lunch, or picking up something on their way. Any takers? Weather being weather, I figure I can't plan these things until the target day. Even if it's nippy at 9, it's often sweater-nice by noon. So, if you look outside and feel so inspired, drop me a note. My cell gets inconsistent coverage in this building, one of the not very nice things.
I then searched for Peppermint Battys, since
hammercock noticed their absence last year. No luck until I searched for Bat instead of Batty. Hell, while I have the credit card out, I decided to replace my Radio Free Vestibule CD,
mangosteen has had it for so long now, it's probably legally his, and, he should have a copy.
Folks on chat suggested I buy several boxes of peppermint battys, but I explained that breaking and eating would be too easy. Shrinkwrap? Well, I used to do that with Zebb's cookies, which I didn't actually look up until people started discussing wings. Zebboriginal's are second only to Louisiana Lickers, to me. (Although, it looks like there's some newer, more recently award-winning Quaker Steak and Lube flavors to try.)
It turns out one of the Vestibules was bored enough at his day job to write back when I sent a plea that they perform in Boston. (I promptly replied with urls for potential venues.) Or maybe it was the comment about Radio Free Vestibule no longer being the weirdest make-out music I've heard. (That honor has since gone to Barnes & Barnes. )
