Joyous Llamas, er, Lamas, um, Lammas.
Harvest, Feast of Bread. "Loaf Mass", eat or bake some bread today (or tomorrow - so maybe I'll actually bake something for the luau. At least it's not too devastingly hot to even consider.)
I made a specific effort to not wear black today (which was difficult.) Feast colors are actually orange and yellow and brown. (Now that I actually have some brown clothing, it's soaking while I try to get stains out of it. Somehow, I thought wearing coffee-colored clothing would solve the spilled caffiene issue. Ha.)
It's a berry picking holiday. If the weather is less than soggy, I'm all for hunting some blueberries this weekend. Recommend places and stuff.
Also a catharsis/(purging/make new resolutions) bonfire holiday (the best holidays always are). If you're doing pennsic, or burning man, or, any actual bbq this month, you're probably covered.
I make vague reference to Lammas to the cafeteria cashier guy. He confesses that he's [learning the ways of] a shaman. Am I the last quasi-pagan in Boston to not be on the Tremont Tea Room mailing list?
