[RTO] For Rainy Days only

If you have kids, a box of toys, games and crafts that are only used on rainy days may save your sanity when dealing with their ennui. Kids being bored reminds me of Matilda, who wrote small.
She also suggests rainy day food. She sets aside a big bowl with all the ingredients needed for a batch of gingerbread, including the fancy schmancy bottle of gourmet mole-asses.
Even if I did have enough space and order in my apartment for such a cupboard, my life doesn't stop like that for rainy days. (How different is my life from most people's that I rarely have long stretches of nothing to do, at least, when I have access to my own home, without or without a special cupboard?)
Rain motivates me to trudge to the gym, parboil a little longer, then bring a book to the Porter Exchange and have a Giant Bowl of Soup. Well, half a bowl. Finish most of the broth, overspice the remaining noodles, then I can add just water to them when I have soup leftovers at home. Yum.

At least I'll know how much I have left for large investments, like a proper stereo, or that table I want custom made, or a new laptop - after calculating what sort of minimum rent buffer I need in case I can't line up work after this gig. Having been employed through the toughest quarter for design/production, I'm not too worried.)
