[RTO] Pamper Thyself

Skipping a cooking entry, since I am probably heading straight to MIT to usher for Star Wars: The Musical. (I've skipped 2 recipes, a candle meditation and a bath, for those of you keeping score. How many can I do at once?)
Pampering is not self-indulgent, but self-preservation. Forgoing in the name of efficiency probably backfires, since we are more effective when relaxed. So don't skip it. The little everyday parts, not just going to Kripalu when you're on the verge of breakdown. (I've never actually been there. Maybe I'll do the volunteer/comp week when I'm workless again.)
Getting to work late(r than usual) this week. Skipping the coffee detour. Hoping the stash of green tea would be sufficient stand-in. Not really. Equal Exchange tea bags seem unusually bitter. Can barely let them steep for a minute.
Real Simple suggested an eye puffiness remedy of chilled used green tea bags, for 10 minutes. When possessed by the odd logic of exhaustion (that which causes one to pinch oneself repeatedly and make the car as cold as possible to stay awake long enough to get to the next rest area, I mean, does that really work?), I decided to use the room temperature bag while working, alternating between eyes. Not for long enough that my cubicle mates caught me or anything.
My eyes felt better. I felt refreshed and awake for my busy evenings. It was weird!
but good.
Am I ever awake and still and not using my eyes, other than in public places?
It occurs to me that this morning I pondered why I don't try to sell off the majority of my music collection. I rarely listen to anything but mixes made by friends or commercial compilations, and even then, not often. I can feel myself slipping into an older demographic. There is a twin bed-sized cloud pillow between the speakers. I suppose I can probably find 10 minutes to lay there with teabags on my eyelids.
