[RTO] Ice Cream in Winter
Jan. 28th, 2003 10:45 amShe offers suggestions on how to enjoy winter. Curl up with tea and books (cats optional*) by the fireplace and be mostly still.
After a lame work-out of reading on the bike, (although, I did walk up the Porter stairs first), then trying to figure out how to hook my arms around the tiled edge so I could nap in the club tub without drowning, I spent last night on this year's side of the couch. (Last year it was the other side of the couch. The year before it was the chair by the window. Armchair traveler indeed!)
Finishing the leftover larb soup, flipping between SG1 and Groundhog Day, mostly the former, I'm waiting until February 2nd (Sunday). Watching it any other time of the year doesn't count. Love the movie though I do, watching it even once a year is still over and over again.
marmota commented "let me guess, it's a repeat." when I mentioned my viewing choices on IRC, while
chhotii and I bonded over the annoying bits of SG1, which only provoked
dsh to sing along.
I'd planned ahead and stocked up on Rocky Road weeks ago, to eat during the appropriate movie scene. I broke it out last night. Every spoonful was accompanied by hearing Yet Another Report About Windchill. Tasty irony.
This morning though, a similar stunt, some guy bought an ice coffee and drank it outside, was regarded as merely deranged. Sounds like Hazing to me.
Then again, how many of you will I see on Thursday, wanting to try Tosci's "Tea with lemon and cream"?
QED! (indeed.)

[* computer laptops are also warm and arguably purr.
chaiya's kitties did a bang-up job as leg warmers on Sunday, until I feared too much for the circulation in
estheruth's legs, which were supporting mine, (plenty heavy enough without the added furry orange weights). The kitten is now the same size as the big cat! Yikes!
