Resolutions
Dec. 31st, 2002 01:42 pmSince the last SA entry is little more than, "remember what you've learned", I'll do resolutions. Lots and lots, and hope I get any of them done. :) The ones that really stand out to me now I'll put in bold.
Which ones do you think need the most work?
(based on the resolutions list I maintained before I decided to spend a year being Simply Abundant. Before you go looking, that site allows one to mark an entire blog private with one click, without having to delete it. Yay.)
Check this list once a month and note progress on resolutions.
Go to bed earlier on school nights so I can go to the gym before work.

Physical Health
- Learn a new sport activity. (cross country skiing with
magid? any sport that puts me in a boat, dammit.) - Go on one of the gym-sponsored hikes run by my old personal trainer.
- Work out at least three times a week, more if possible. Try to just go to the gym every day, even if just for hot tub. note for grunters: abs, coreboard, circuit, yoga, reading on bike, partners for ellipticals, etc.
- Shorten my time on the Boilermaker 15K. (This probably requires weight loss.)
- Pay more attention to how food affects me.
- Lower/maintain my lowered my daily caffiene intake. (I first made that resolution when I was doing 2-6 cups a day. )
- Do more of my own cooking. (also financial/ego benefit, but mostly health.)
- try another fast - when I'm not working or too close to big races.
Creative Health
- set aside at least one day a month to do art. (other than pysanky, if possible.)
- do another cafe show.
- really get the hang of a new (to me) program. (In-design, flash, bryce, heck... even freehand.)
- Do the SA illustrated journal + treasure map I didn't do this year.
Home building
- better lighting, better seating. lose/upgrade the hand-me-down stereo components and try to assemble a new system, with suspendable speakers. (help?)
- curtains, (for winter, mostly. but this also means, that's right, curtain rods.)
- the special order coffee table I’ve wanted since before I moved to Boston.
- Set aside at least 2 hours a week to sort and clean.
- Set aside monthly time to mend clothing, sort clothing for swap or consignment.
- Do the apparently buddhist thing of giving away at least one material item a day, on average.
- Sell or donate that bag of CDs already.
- Cook dinner (from scratch?) at least once a month. (Another old resolution. but, still fairly valid.)
- More Sunday brunches. Shorter line here than JohnnyDs or Soundbites.
- Pay off credit card debt. (done as of today. but I’m probably going to build it up again.)
Social Health
- Prioritize exercise and art over social events, including gaming. (Art includes making art and attending art.)
- prioritize smaller group events over parties and potlucks.
- more excursions. brunch/picnic/tea on the beach. museums, kripalu/mass moca, hiking etc.
- leave the country, or go to hawaii (while I know people who live there), or both, (while I still have credit).
- (The M principle) be less hard on myself. give myself some slack.
- (The W principle) take less shit.
- Give less shit. (be less of a butt.)
- paranoia is a self-fulfilling prophecy and causes one to seek and react to hearsay. STOP!!!!!
Spiritual Health
- Observe/research pagan holidays.
- maintain daily gratitudes diary.
- (private) daily gripe journal.
- volunteer. community service.
