SA lady also talks of how she feels guilty at having not given enough to charity. Even though, unlike, say *me*, she drops off gifts to a local shelter, and prepares a nativity tray, consisting of a bone for a stray dog (she also includes some dry cat food), hay for a horse, a cloak (or coat), "a garland of bright berries for someone who has worn chains", crumbs for birds, sweetmeats (?) for children. She then places this at the edge of her lawn, near the street.
I can picture my landlords' reaction to that already.
I've done squat for charity. I smell another New Year's resolution. And, in fact, today has been quite self-centered. Everyone in the building got a discount coupon for Marshall's that expired today, and, yesterday I noticed my "good" bluejeans were rather frayed. And I've been wanting to get basic corduroys for a while now. I figured I go see if they had any decent pants in my size (rare). They did! I lost my mind. 2 denims, 3 cords, all for under $100. Yay.
And a few gifts, one of which might even be for Chaiya, as soon as I verify her heraldry.
Meanwhile, Santa left me presents. I called Q at Diesel to see if anyone there would fess up, and they were all apprently convincingly innocent, but expected me to upload a photo of my presents immediately. So, I'll go do that now.
