cthulhiaI want some gooey meaty cheesy food item, hot and dripping.
I also really want the house to continue smelling like gingerbread.
My gingerbread, as opposed to the TJs gingerbread (defiled with anise), smells of ginger and cinnamon and cloves. Why did I make a double batch? I have made (the cookies for) an entire gingerbread Icehouse stash (albeit not tournament size), and another tray of gingerbread dog bones, finally using that cookie cutter I bought for the Day of the dead party two years ago. I still have more than half the dough left. I'm not yet ready to face the massive rolling requirements of major architecture.
The royal icing recipe on the TJs gingerbread house box was either not up to snuff or rather poorly executed. The house just oozed from the inside. Several hours later, the "Bite Me" I spelled with frosting on wax paper is still not tooth-breakingly solid. That can't be right! And after successfully whipping eggwhites into peaks with my wee little handwhisk!
The pre-fab, anise-defiled gingerbread is of an A-frame. A triangular house that came in a triangular box, not entirely unlike the unit orgami that Magid has been making all day. Dammit, I wish my icing worked.
