two local arts missions:
THIS WEEK ONLY: Astrodime needs clean tin cans, of the proportions of ones used in "tin can phones". I am helping them out with a Cyberarts installation that goes up on Friday. Since most of these won't be used for phones (but as installation backdrop), the opener edge can be a little jagged. The sizes can vary, but the proportions shouldn't, i.e. no tuna cans. And... unless I get them tonight or tomorrow, there probably won't be time to clean them, so they have to be pretty clean, and without labels. They will most likely be spray painted white. (So the printed-directly-on-the-tin style makes no difference.)
If anyone wants to join me for a walk tonight or tomorrow morning scavenging through local recycling bins in Davis, let me know.
MAY 2nd & 3rd: SOS Trolley Guides. Need people to set up & take down the trolley stop sandwich boards, orient the trolley driver if needed, greet riders, and, if you can, recommend which studios you think might be to their tastes. Obviously, I've been going to Open Studios for over a decade, and can chat people up about artists ad nauseum.
If interested in either of these, let me know.
