Beware the power of suggestion

Turns out that Merely Discussing whether or not an event announcement should specify "Drama Free", even if consensus decides against such an indication, is enough to provoke Nature's Abhorrence of a Void, and cause the event in question to be completely trainwrecked by Drama.

About my not-obsessed friends

It took nearly a week, but, eventually, someone in Boston noticed I wasn't around. I was dully informed that I'd better get back in time for a homemade Greek dinner, because I'd be hosting. So I did.

I showed them my holiday haul. They laughed their asses off at the Clooney DVDs and then insisted we watch One Fine Day. This required less chocolate and alcohol than expected. Probably because we were full.

Thanks to my mom I've a high tolerance for cheesy romances set in Manhattan. This one at least had the decency to not feature Meg Ryan.
