arty farty, that one
Dec. 13th, 2004 03:03 pmThe art deco exhibit was quite nice. (Very good for the price, since I managed to get
rikchik's spare ticket.)
However, not a single work of erte was featured, except in the gift shop.
O, his stuff isn't art, but we'll still market it at you ... grumble.
So, while the erte note cards, playing cards, bags and etc. were nice, don't feel inspired to buy any of them for me until significant post-holiday price reductions.
(Same for the ornaments, on the theory that I may yet have my own tree again someday.) Yeah, I'm a big erte junky, my biggest piece of art is an Erte silk print. (now one of my LJ icons...)
We drifted out through this exhibit, which got us all in the mood for The Hunt. I still haven't picked a team. Make a bid if you want me. Not that I'm such a great puzzler that I expect a real bidding war, but, this year's version of Jmac's Birthday party has already offered some dark chocolate. In theory some of turnips and palindrome are reading this too. What say you?
The Sonik show the night before was nice, if small and crowded. Mr. Sonik is pleasant.
The pieces that even came close to grabbing me were steep. Instead, I have ended up with one of the Dana Farber benefit snowflakes (neither the singing bat, nor the snow princess, but the weird one of the scuba pug).
Probably more than I should be budgeting for art anyway, but... well... as long as I keep it under the pysanky profits. (I'd allow myself an aquamarine czech glass bracelet... if she had any left.)
