Please please please get pictures! I may get some too, but these are on such a main road I don't see them lasting a week.

(Saw them while doing an overdue 5K run this morning. Oddly, my back starts to hurt if I am not running enough. The wheezing stopped after the 2nd mile, and I'm not noticably sore from the run. Just the existing back pain. I probably need to do a longer run to really warm up and stretch my lower back. But, I also need to make up for the sleep deprivation of NinCon. And, I need to get the display ready for Saturday morning, so I can Plunk it in and then go help people mooooooove. Sometime this week, more than 5 miles. Not sure when. argh.)

Our possessions should not possess us.

They can express who we are, and play the role of security blankies, but we should remember they are non-essential.

Examples given include non-cannibal Donner party survivor Margeret Reed, and one of the author's friends who survived an earthquake.

Sure, like I don't have fantasies of my house burning down so I can guiltlessly start fresh. It's just so hard to part with all the sentimental crap I use like a crutch for memory and sense of identity.

Know yourself for what you love, even if ideas, not for what you own.
