This will seem oddly coincidental to those who know of my current addiction/seduction problem. She is talking about workaholicism.
I would find being addicted to my job a welcome novelty right about NOW.
I have been calculating how to get by on my director's fee and the 8 hours a week of web content maintenance. After taxes, they don't even cover my rent.
Utilitarian fixing of image maps stretched my day through 4 pm, when I left to get home before rush hour, AND get to the farmer's market. (It was a FIGHT to get them to Not Give Me More Plastic Bags, but I did it!) I was home in time to receive a call from the -Littel people! (Apparently they'd left messages, which were eaten by the voicemail gods.) I'll there next Monday or the following Tuesday.
Yes!
I hope I know in time for a T pass if the sooner date. In either case, it looks like I'll have the day off to run (walk) the Tufts 10K, assuming I survive the Davis Square 5K this weekend.
Between the two W2 gigs, I'll be working more than 40 hours a week through the new year. Sure, it's the busiest time of the year, when I always wish I had time off. I balked at running away to Albequerque this weekend for the same reason I didn't go to the playa. I just knew I'd get work now. On the other hand, I haven't had 40+ hour weeks since this time last year, and I've fully demonstrated how quickly my time management skills degrade without a work schedule. I may clear my credit card debt within months, whether I get a new roommate soon or not. The sooner I do, the more savings I'll have when the lean times hit again in February.
