baronmind awesomely bought me
this awesome shirt. There are some less-than-awesome pix of me wearing it on facebook. Note how I'm not linking to them.
He also sent me
this image, which fills me with joy.
zodmicrobe linked to a bunch of images weeks ago, to highlight one from his shoot, but,
this is the one I loved. (Maybe I should make an icon out of it.
ED: indeed.)
radiotelescope's black gingerbread (with some aroma-enhancing additions that seemed oddly absent from his recipe -- mainly clove and cinnamon), which I've been alternately describing as "air freshener cake" and "black death cake" (it's
really dark, dark like my typical attitude dark), made about twice as much as expected. However, it did achieve the goal of getting rid of the decidedly non-food-like vinegar odor from Saturday's cooking.
coolwhitestare declared it
The Best Smell Ever. I brought one pan of it to work, but it turned out to be the monthly Lulu cupcake day. (A lot of the cupcakes went unclaimed, as more folks at work seem entirely burnt out on food.) So, I stowed it in a fridge for tomorrow, when some people might have interest in a treat, especially if it's homemade.
[a link I only have @ work, dag nabbit, will add it tomorrow] [

Apartment therapy, which led me to
Eliphante. Which, along with the current exchange rates, has me leaning towards the April Birthdays Party in Phoenix rather than KoLondon, both on the same weekend in April. If I can manage to get in to see that place, anyway.
I am also reminded of wanting to go see the
Bunny (which should happen well enough after ski season to maybe get a deal, or at least not be too muddy), and of wanting to see the Smithsonian for the first time in possibly a decade. I think I need to plan vacations with goals of seeing stuff, not people, since that's more of a crap shoot. (Obviously, being able to see people too is awesome, but... if that doesn't work out, I want to walk away having had some moment that didn't feel like a waste of time and airfare. I can get quality drama right in my own neighborhood. Cheap!)
