[personal profile] mangosteen implied that he was on the verge of doing the The Couch-to-5K Running Plan.

I figured a good first 5K is the Somerville 5k for the homeless on October 6th, which coincides with the HONK! festival. You finish to the tune of a bunch of punk marching bands, some of whom run with you, in uniform. It's not Bay2Breakers, but that's more like a 10K anyway.

However, the C25K plan is a 9 week, not an 8 week plan, so, you'd need to start a week ago to do it. I suspect that a lot of you non-runners could still outrun my 11 minute mile pace within 8 weeks of training. I'm vaguely doing an 8-week 10K training plan (for the Tufts run 2 days later), so, I may be able to stay ahead of some of you this time.

So, who's running with me this year? You know you want to.
