My "insane" gingerbread project finally hit BGG.

Yes, it all got et.
Yes, I'd do it again. If that happens, I'll likely mention it in LJ first, since, people snarkily expect a redo to have all those expansions I don't own. I'd need other people's games as reference.
Yes, I've since heard that there is currently an actual Food of Catan contest, but, let's just say I have issues with Catan. If I get better with cake decorating details, I might consider Hunters & Gatherers, which I prefer to classic Carcassonne.
Trivia:
I bought a square cookie cutter because I didn't trust myself to get a consistent shape with just a knife. (A bigger square cookie cutter might work better.)
I used Kingdom of Loathing's (Xlyinia's) recipe for Gingerbread Bugbears.
(more as I remember it, or as people ask...)

Trivia:
- Total time required:
- day 1: make first batch of dough (~30 minutes), chill overnight.
- day 2: roll out + cook first batch (1 hour), dry/air out overnight (pets might may make this tricky), make second batch (~30 minutes), chill overnight, watch roommate slowly figure out what you're up to based on the shape of the cookies and the Carcassonne box next to them.
- day 3: roll out + cook second batch (1 hour), dry/air out overnight
- day 4: make royal icing, start decorating, get curious roommate to ice the meeples. return for assorted touch ups between TiVO'd Sci-fi friday shows. (1.5+ hours cumulative)
- day 5: net surf to find out how to make a finer-point pastry bag than the one you thought would work out, but didn't, get really charitable with the piping. (i.e. "sure, that looks like a monastery")
- so, about 6-7 hours, over 4-5 days.
