The Decordova's current show is, of course, very good. Not as interactive the 2004 exhibition, which I returned to, when it wasn't free, more than once. This time my favs were Evelyn Rydz and Jen Simms. Anna Hepler's pieces may remind you of that planarity game, Naoe Suzuki may remind you of the Codex Seraphinianus. Jon Sarkin's installation numbed me with too much data. (I can't figure out who did the spiffy tape and fishing line sculpture that I want to recreate as a group craft project at a party sometime.) Steve Hollinger's Jellyfish is back on display too. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Afterwards, to NERAX, and beers with names like: Goldihops, Brains, Red God (which was very tasty)...

I was suffering through "First Light" which was sadly (and perhaps appropriately) similar to (my vague, years if not decades old, recollection of) Budweiser when [livejournal.com profile] hahathor dragged over some poor guy whose friends think he looks like $CELEBRITY_CRUSH. Yeah, I could see it. Sure. Moreso than anyone else in the room after the same quantity of beer. (Except, shorter. Unless IMDB is lying by at least 4 inches.) But too shy or terrified to, you know, ask for my number. If you don't have the gonads to ask, why would I bother to offer?

O I love it when guys act afraid of me. Right up there with unnecessary root canals as one of the real joys in life.

So, yeah, part of $CELEBRITY_CRUSH's charm is not his looks, but his charm.

If only I could get over my need for Charm...
