1. the way colored lights on the shrubbery diffused into color blobs under snow.
   
2. obsessively intricate decoration of sugar cookies. we used tweezers to position the sprinkles to spell stuff.
   
3. stacking all the gifts under the tree into little cities and mazes when playing with dolls or cars.
   
4. being the first one up (the duty of a youngest child, really) and sneaking around in the morning to see what "santa" had left.
