cthulhiaOddly empty weekend. Empty socially. So I have to find other ways of procrastinating on my chores.
Finally deposited $19.50 of rolled coins, which may be about how much it weighed in pounds.
Then cheap bastarded myself into Harvard Square. Natural History/Peabody is free before noon on Sundays. However, the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger and Sackler were free today.
Afterwards, I meandered towards the cinema, to check times. Wasn't even sure I wanted to give up a couple precious hours of sunlight. Someone handed me an extra non-refundable ticket to Master and Commander. Wasn't planning to see it on opening weekend, but, free is good.
Um, not a chick flick. 20 minutes of previews about Men of Strength and Character in Dangerous Situations. The studios liked it. 20th Century Fox, Miramax, and Universal all ran full ID intros, I hadn't noticed they were all the same company now.
Although, if you harbor a mad crush on a boy who regularly wears his hair in a braid, perhaps it IS a chick flick, in the Ladies, start your vibrators sense of the term. Well, ok, amputations and puking and weevils and grime don't quite make up for the swashbuckling of men in period costume, even when they're sweating and foaming like thoroughbreds. (Or perhaps like mustangs, to reference the preview of Viggo's next film. I may have actually muttered "still not king" aloud during that preview.)
Afterwards, wandered home via Abodeon, which I'd been meaning to walking into for the first time in years. Shrug.
Ended up splurging at Pier 1 like a loser instead. Caved for one nicely dithered pillar candle, and a little guy that reminded me of [Uz's] antique turtle clock. The clamp-on lamp next to my bed had seen better days by my sophomore year. Overdue for replacement. Bought this lamp because this lamp took weird bulbs, even though I like the simplicity of the stand better. I am still really tempted by these curtains, but I'll have to figure out measurements. I doubt I'd get away with only one per window, hence a minimum of 4 for my room. And, I'd have to get curtain rods... A bigger investment than I was just then up for.
But, now I'm fresh out of innovative procrastinations. I've had this loaned copy of Rhem since ... a month ago as of this Monday. Let me know if you have a better idea.
