you'd think, by now, we'd have a well-known option to make sure toenails, when clipped, didn't pop just anywhere.

Those "cute" dragon boats in Pawtucket...

Are about 2 feet wider and 1000 lbs heavier than our practice boats, and the paddles are... equally unwieldy.

Still cute, but huge and ornery.

So, Boat 2 screwed ourselves. This time, we didn't manage to get a decent time in the placement heats, ending up in division F, or W or something equally wretched. But our race time was so good that, had we made Division C, we'd've won first. However, everyone got an attendance medal. Since we didn't really have enough bodies for Boat 3, most of us took turns there, and got a second attendance medal.

My last race of the season, but, if folks in the bay area want to cheer the one boat we're sending there on September 22, look for Living Root. I've already told them to look for gnat23 on BAD. (dianec42, will you be there too? what's your team?)
