cthulhia: (zombified)
My front porch has become a construction site. The common front door spent most of the winter nearly falling off, and, now that the weather is conducive to not having that airlock, it is being fixed. This, however, cuts into my porch comfort.

As I catfoot around the splintery bits of wood with rusty nails sticking out of them, I have to remind myself that, unlike my KoL character, any tetanus I catch won't go away after ten turns.

On Saturday, I went for what I have since determined was, in fact, an 8 mile run. Which put me in perfect lurching form for the Zombie March.

Considering the sheer volume of neighborhood arts events I've attended in the past month, it was alarming that this was the first time I'd seen many of my artsy pals this year. (Mostly taking pictures, not participating.) "Yes, this is what I look like in make-up. Now you know why I don't wear it very often."

Even more disturbing was how indistinguishable we were from everyone else in Harvard Square on a Saturday night. I really enjoyed walking into Origins and asking if they were still doing skin care demos that night, because I, uh, seemed to have a condition. The response was a satisfying startle.

Despite the presence of two (2) Zombie Dorothy Gales, I had a hard time getting folks to sing "If I only had a brain". (Jonathan Coulton was less of a stretch, but I'm guessing that a significant portion of his audience was present.)

Thus far, the only pix I've found of me were by [profile] hahathor. I managed to shuffle away from my various groups of zombie pals just in time for every photo. [personal profile] hammercock and [profile] fangirl715 managed to get in some good shots (linked from their LJs).

Sunday was the T party. Which went quite well for an alpha test. Now that I've invested in several thermoses (thermi?), I'll be looking to do more frequent picnicky-like events. (Note: Lantern festival is 7/12, raindate 7/19)

I returned in time for my assistant stage manager shift (apparently, I do have a title!) with The Ego and the Oracle. There's been some controversy. It was the one night I wasn't there, so I don't really understand what happened. That said, it's giving the show an exciting tension. If you were thinking of going at all, I'd really love to see you there for the next show. (I always have 2 comps per performance, possibly more at the very last minute, i.e. if it doesn't sell out.)

One of my favorite weekend conversations was regarding how sad it is that we as a species don't have prehensile tails, which led into a discussion of how, if things were different, it would affect fashion and etiquette... as well as ability to hold more items at once on a moving train.

As these two photos clearly demonstrate, the straight hair definitely looks better is definitely more flattering.
(thanks to [personal profile] hammercock for the curly hair photo)

Something with Sylar and Peter Petrelli getting it on, please?

thank you.

"I can be anything you want me to be, Peter."
"Yeah? Me too."
