au bon panic

Rickland apparently terrorized the Au Bon Pain Manager by walking in an hour earlier than expected, with bells on.

"What? No! You're Early! We're not ready."

He was there early only to use the bathroom, but, in fact, due to the resodding of the middle stop on the May Day Morris Dancer tour de harvard square, the crowd did end up at Au Bon Pain before 8 am. (The most festive part is the sound of all the bell-clad dancers jogging to their cars when the meters turn on right around then.)

A mere six months ago (at the Anti-Morris festivities on Halloween), I'd mentioned to Jeff that if he brought me some of his fresh home-roasted coffee at May Day, I would feel obliged to take up the bells. He forgot. Phew! My knees are safe from the hazards of Morris Dancing for another year.

::

Also, I've been wanting a Tea party on the T since I moved here. I'm thinking we should do it this year, to and from Lilac Sunday. You'd need a cup, maybe a saucer, and perhaps a fancy hat.  Who's with me?

Brooklyn Rules

A stellar performance of a stellar story by a stellar cast. Sounds like the director had to fight to even get a limited theatrical release before sending it straight to DVD.

See it if it even comes to a theater near you.
