my! what an interesting carrot!

this is mostly for [livejournal.com profile] dr_pretentious, but, I'm sure the rest of you will enjoy it too.

(it is, in fact, an organic, localy grown carrot, and probably tastes better than anything from the ACDC.)

some folks who saw the images shouted "userpic! userpic!" Um, you're welcome to make me one, or take it for your own, but... in the latter case, post a comment with said pic here so that I can have a gallery of them, thanks.

covet

two rather expensive things that I covet:

This amazing (but not one of a kind) necklace that is regularly in the window of E. R. Butler on Charles Street. (Artist is Gabriela Kiss, and she apparently has no web site!)

And, I really want this new sculpture by Steve Hollinger. Some of you know my obsessive love of his jellyfish. I was actually saving up funds when the Decordova bought it!

He had it on display at Open Studios yesterday. Now to figure out how raise the likely fundage for it by the time of its gallery show in December. I am guessing that trying to buy this new piece would still be cheaper than that necklace.

champagne tastes, graham cracker wallet.

bricks?

so... over the summer I started using some wooden planks on my radiators, making them into highly coveted horizontal space. However, I kinda want to turn the heat back on. Like, soon. Would it be sufficient to use bricks or cinder blocks and just elevate the planks? Or do I need to just give up that space until spring again?

And, if the former is ok, where do I buy small quantities of bricks?
