EEGLNS?

I finished Word Freak last night at the Diesel. [livejournal.com profile] crazybone and I independently decided that, even though we don't regularly read Something Positive, it would be a people watcher's paradise.

That was before I hit the passage in Word Freak that had me laughing so much I was crying on the subway, and kept me fairly engrossed in the book through the end, even through a pedicure at Square Nail (still unsure it was worth an extra $20 to lose the massage chair for the French provincial decor and sexier products) to the point that I was fleetingly bummed to find out today that the author has since married and spawned, according to the National Scrabble Association web site, which did also give me faces for the assorted characters in his book. (Not sure if such a thing would spoiler the book too much or not.)

Said passage may even oust my previous choice as the funniest thing ever. Although, possibly lost on non-word geeks (a category to which I may only really qualify because I was reading a book about Scrabble at the time).

That said, I have a copy available for lending. If you're too impatient for that, then go to Amazon and do an inside the book search on EEGLNS?. It's at the bottom of the page and continues on the next one. Just typing about it makes me smile
