This will be the 4th recent duck boat parade for [local pro sports team winning national championship], and the first time I'm actually downtown for it.
I wouldn't go out of my way to see these parades -- I watched the games out of civic duty/self-preservation. (My "friends" in general, don't give a rat's ass about my awareness of local sports, but if I can manage to win over cow orkers before they inevitably notice I'm a mutant freak, it usually makes an enormous difference in team cohesion and productivity.)
However, if a parade of duck boats is going to go right by my door, I might as well watch.
My orkers assure me that come rush hour, when the fans are still drunkenly clogging the commute, I will be So Over It.
Maybe I'll go all Koshka n' shit and hit a matinee at the common first.
