cthulhia: (feets don't fail me now)
As I have for the past n years (if you insist, I'll count the T-shirts when I get home), I am running the Somerville 5K for the Homeless this Sunday, at 10 AM.
It should take me about, o, 40 minutes. Free Johnny D's oatmeal at the finish line.

It would be so lovely if you were there, water, coffee and oatmeal in hand. (well, in appropriate containers in hand.)

Also:

For once, it's not the same weekend as the Tufts 10K, so I signed up for that race for the first time. Columbus Day, Monday October 11. Starts at 12 noon, and I expect that it'll take me at least 70 minutes. I have no idea what to expect from the race, but it would be nice to have folks waiting for me at the end of it. There is some sort of expo on the common, so we could T together and you could browse until I finish the race.

Afterwards, well, there's the boston common movie theater right there, hmmm? (What better time to see a chick flick than after a "race for women"?)

[livejournal.com profile] tcb wins the big prize for being the one who finally got OSX installed on my laptop. (What should I do to thank him?)

This happened last night.
In that time (my machine fought the install every step of the way):
we had dinner,
I played my first 80 turns of kingdom of loathing,
he did several loads of laundry,
we watched Outfoxed
and
had an impromptu cheese tasting; maple cheddar(?), sage cheddar, rosemary(?) feta and "purple haze" lavender/fennel* chevre from the folks who brought us Humboldt Fog.

I managed to get some portion of my usual 5K in before the deluge. Breakfast included fresh-squeezed lemonade with zuckertree lemons. mmmmm.

I found the Fog, but only in prohibitively large quantities, not like the convenient size of which I left half in [livejournal.com profile] zxywvut and [livejournal.com profile] zahraa's fridge. I don't consume cheese like that all that often. While it wouldn't likely go "bad", it might stop being quite so good. It will be featured in the goat cheese tasting I feel compelled to attend tonight. Harvest Scharvest, this is the Goat Cheese Moon!

*no, [livejournal.com profile] infinite_hotel (or [livejournal.com profile] quietann) this would NOT make a good ice cream flavor, dammit. However, it does make an excellent cheese.
