oatmeal and glowy art
Aug. 31st, 2004 03:45 pmso, I like the slow cooked oatmeal. its spackle-like nature deters me from trying to cook any in advance, or leave extra to assume the houseguests will eat it as early as an hour later. single servings of the stuff are difficult. Even with the smallest pot I have, I need at least 1/3 cup dry, and end up throwing half out. oatmeal is not exactly the sort of breakfast one invites people to share, even if I do add cream and flax and nuts and berries to it.
Borrowed a cow orker's Decordova membership card to cut the price of lunch in half. My houseguests were already there, mostly at The Thing that Purple and I loved so much. (I hope they went outside once it dried up a bit). I'd forgotten just how much I like the current exhibit. It goes away after Sunday. Move quickly if you haven't seen it yet. Still haven't been able to enjoy the most romantic (and most burning man-like) installation with, say, an actual date. Although, I did get to spend this time with my "lesbian lover from college" (who is married, to a male). She plans to ask their coven's handywoman to recreate it somehow.
If I had a room like that, I'd never leave the house.
