the hardest part is just beginning
Jul. 18th, 2004 02:06 pmbut, I finally started throatwobbler's fantasy novel, currently a discouragingly large stack of laser print-outs. Walked to davis, absorbed coffee, got my post-run pedicure as
awfief ordered (abandoning I'm not really a waitress for Las Vegas Strip Poker because I dig the gaming theme), walked back, reading the entire time. I'm not normally given to reading while walking, a la Zarf.
But, now that I'm sucked in, the ream of print-outs is slightly less daunting. Although, it would've been nice if the pope had put them in order before he left for Mongolia. Not all the parts are stapled together as neatly as perhaps they should be.
Speaking of the hardest part being just starting, I read instead of devoting the pre-social hours of the day to getting some art done, especially now that I've been offered really tiny bird's eggs to try to paint. And had several people leaning on me at artbeat to figure out an acceptable display case for pysanky. Not that I'm ready to lose my weekends to hawking one of my hobbies... and I haven't even cracked the acyrlic tubes gifted to me last month. Too many books left to read...
on the other hand, I did manage to sort most of 5+ months of paperwork while watching CBS sunday morning. I've been away for my weekends for so many weeks that I haven't been able to watch. The guilt of not being able to work-out until the sunburn fades enough to handle the chafe of an athletic bra resulted in getting filing done. I almost feel productive in spite of myself.
