Saw The Chronicles of Riddick last night.
Um, if there's a 700 degree Solar Wind outside, it's not going to be much cooler in the shade. You'll be toast, unless you're making a whole bunch of fantastic CON rolls. But really, the clincher (which you've seen in the trailer) is when one of the PCs mutters "I hate not being the bad guys".
Everything's even pewter-toned, like Warhammer 40K.
And, everyone is muscle-bound and extremely goth. The loyal commander dude was Boaz, only not as calculating. It was his former (SCA) master's household taken to its "budget and science are no object" culmination. I expect we'll be seeing a lot of these props at Goth Nites for years to come.
If you're not into goth visuals, or a gamer, this movie would probably be tedious turkey-fodder.
If you are a gamer, you'll regret not also becoming a movie star so you could come up with the money to make a movie about your favorite character. And, you're already trying to figure out how to recreate the props and costumes to sell at your next SF con.
