[m4w] are you becoming?
Mar. 17th, 2004 01:31 pmIt occurs to me that if you regard "becoming" as a noun [adjective, e.g. part of speech other than a verb], a certain NIN song becomes, well, a little prissy.

Saw Intersection with Purple, St.Eve and [Mrs. St.Eve]. Turns out [Mrs. St.Eve] was who invited me to the Prom. Because she didn't change her surname and I've never had a need to know it, I had no idea who it was. I might've been more willing to go stag had I made that connection. Maybe next year.
Intersection was timely, being an Irish film and all. Afterwards, we were treated to a reception in the basement at Clery's. Free Authentic Irish buffalo wings, calamari, nachos, satay and new beer product from Anheiser-Busch. St.Eve was conscripted to treat us all to Guinness. By the time he returned, they'd cleverly turned on some awful pop station to drown out the live Irish music playing at the top of the stairwell.
After we were reduced to the free beer product, we went upstairs to better hear the band. At least until we decided we'd had enoughfree beer product strange conversation with someone else from the free screening. He ran the An Ras Mor and post-race drank with Kenyans, which caused me to accidentally encourage him to keep talking to us. Oops.
For someone with usually green eyes, I have a dearth of green attire. Sagey, military, SG1-y green sure, but, like kelly or forest green, not really. Despite both my Scottish (and Syracuse University tailgate party) heritage, I have nothing orange either, except for a running T-shirt, and if I was going to wear a shirt with text on it, I'd wear the one I got on Sunday, since it's Irish themed. I did find a sea green shirt, a plaid cardigan, and green glass jewelry.
The caf served corned beef and cabbage, this being the only day we'd forgive that. And wow is it filling. The shamrock cookies have been added to the drawer of standby sweets. But there's still a less-storable green frosted cupcake, and then thedunkin donuts apple pie thing that someone brought in for her birthday.
Apparently, the tradition here is that you bring in stuff for your own birthday. Humph.
If I don't commission brownies, I'll probably end up bringing in insipid easter candy. I once saw chocolate eggs that were kosher for passover...
