Since I used to write a history column called Looking Back, I feel compelled to participate in this meme.

(what would be even better is if I could see what my friends page looked like on some specific date.. just in case any of you coding types are bored.)

Last year I was Waiting in the basement of the Neighborhood Restaurant, Avram is the cat's ass, and none of you will be forgiven for obliging me to sleep alone all winter. (In 2004, it's not the whole winter, just the past six weeks of scary lonely nights i won't forgive.)

Two years ago, I was meditatively walking home from Malden, with a book in my hand, and listing some joyful simplicities for this month. (Still as relevant in 2004.)

2001, I was in the computer room in my sophomore year dorm, surrounded by ghosts, reliving some of my worst memories of college. (In 2004, I regret not going for back to another NonCon on leap weekend, except I'm already doing waytoomuch driving this year.)
