Fortress Around Your Heart
So yeah, if you name a book Labyrinth, involving the Chartres Labyrinth*, set it in the actual city of Carcassonne, well, you know I'll want to read it.
Especially if I'm on a transcontinental flight with no puzzles, or in Jury Duty.
Author Kate Mosse loves the region and the history the Cathars, so, for some accuracy there, it's a good read. Including the primary(?) source of the battle-cry "Kill them all, let God sort 'm out", although she uses the less Bruckheimer translation of the original Latin.
However, the book is Yet Another Grail Theory, where, of course, ends that have lain loose for millenia are tied up within a week in the present day. And, the evil character is pale, with black hair and green eyes. (And, well, as I am too responsive to suggestion, it'd be nice to see a story in my favor other than Snow White, k? Otherwise, I'll take the hint and be more deliberately evil. Consider yourself warned.)
And, the storyline made me think of lyrics by (post-Police) Sting!!! Argh!
Nonetheless, it is now available for loan. And, unlike Wikipedia, you can read it even when you don't have net.
*I want to go back to Vega$ to see Ka, with those who knew me as Cindy Liu Hu, cirque acrobat extraordinaire (and a moon empress Nephilim).
