Are we part of the momentum? (How much of my dorky $CELEBRITY_CRUSH commentary here affects the 10-50% of my flist that they propagate the meme, and so on? It would be novel to feel like I mattered, well, at all, really, but, to this in particular.)
Or was I merely easy prey to a well-organized marketing campaign that was well-underway when I happened to notice? (Obviously, the "for your consideration" push was well-enough underway that I started dreaming about the guy prior to seeing either of his nominated movies.)
I used to be ahead of the curve...
(for like, 4 months, in 10th grade, maybe, when I started wearing vintage rhinestone jewelry right before Madonna did. I wasn't cool or anything, but I predicted trends.)
now I feel like roadkill.
EDIT: This ties him with Brad Pitt for being named twice. This may come up in pub trivia sometime soon. Let me know if my pointless $CELEBRITY_CRUSH knowledge earns you a beer.
