cthulhia: (CLOONEY MULLET)
[personal profile] cthulhia
When I was a kid, pop star crushes involved an onorous wait to get somewhat recent photos, and everything was outdated by the time I saw it.

They also didn't involve reading an interview (in the same rag that interviewed me) with, say, Harrison Ford that took place a block from my office. (He was Right Over There, shame I've been over him for decades.)

Thanks to news.yahoo.com, I can get daily updates (which was lots of fun last may, with stills of trent reznor suited up for trial, a day after I shook his hand at the soundcheck we snuck into -- the world is a much smaller place than it was when I was a kid) on what celebrity crush du jour is doing, from Oscar brunches to his current photo shoot.

Despite folks trying to cure me, by sending me pictures of Clooney from the 80s* (when we apparently had the same haircut!!!!) how can you not love a guy who, just this week, said his Oscar date would be Dick Cheney? "He was so nice. He called me and invited me to go hunting.”

Now I'm wondering whether I should pointedly watch the Oscars alone and unobserved, or with, um, someone, er, available, for, er, any sudden urgent needs. snicker

Ok, at least I get to use up a few more of the 30946508724652 LJ icons I seem to be allowed. Bwa ha ha ha.

* I totally missed this late incarnation of Facts of Life. I was going for the maximum activities for college apps by then, or maybe I just had a bad case of MTV. But, I get the impression mullet-boy was a big part of [livejournal.com profile] pheromone's life back then.
